Michigan election law (MCL 169.252) allows individuals, including lawyers, to make a contribution of up to $6,800 for a 17th Circuit Court candidate. However, as to lawyers, Canon 7 of the Michigan Code of Judicial Conduct prohibits a judicial campaign committee from soliciting more than $100 per lawyer.
